ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is the placement of solid, hair-thin, stainless steel, sterile, disposable single-use needles at specific points on the body to stimulate biochemical and physiological changes. From a Chinese medical theory perspective, an energy called “qi” (pronounced “chee”) runs through meridians (or channels) in the body. When this energy or “qi” becomes blocked or imbalanced health issues can arise. By placing acupuncture needles into specific points on the body, it can help to reestablish the flow of qi through the meridians and restore balance. Most people find acupuncture to be a painless experience and very relaxing.
Some common sensations experienced during an acupuncture session are: heaviness, warmth,
pressure, tingling, or a dull ache. The number of acupuncture treatments needed will depend on each individual patient and their specific condition. Acupuncture is cumulative and each session builds on the next to help increase the body’s ability to heal. The Practitioner will assess you and your condition at your first visit and work with you to create a treatment plan to best meet your health goals.
CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping therapy is a medical technique that has been used for thousands of years across many cultures, in many parts of the world. It is also known as myofascial decompression. Glass cups are placed on areas of the body and a pump is used to create suction on the skin. The cups produce a negative pressure that creates more space between the underlying tissues. This helps to alleviate pain and tightness, improve range of motion, and aids in detoxification. Cupping is primarily used to decrease pain, increase blood
flow and circulation, and for respiratory symptoms. Cupping feels similar to massage and most people find it relaxing. The cups often leave red or purple marks on the skin, but these marks typically fade within a week and they are not painful. Cupping can help to promote faster recovery and healing for many conditions.
CHINESE HERBS

The origins of Chinese Herbal Medicine can be traced back at least 5,000 years, and can provide relief from a wide range of health disorders. It is another method that your practitioner may use as a part of your treatment plan. Chinese Herbal Medicine is a wholistic approach used to address the root cause of disease, while also helping with current symptoms. It is often used in conjunction with acupuncture, depending on the condition of the individual patient.
